Turbo 3.8

Ok....just as a thought. I'm gonna need all the help on this I can get too. Here are my plans for a cheap summer project.

Fox shell in decent enough shape, preferebly complete minus motor and trans
3.8 from 99 or newer stang
t-5 tranny
windstar intake
big turbo kit

I've seen a few vid on youtube of some sick turbo 6 cars producing good numbers on the stock block. I think one of the best one's I saw was over 4xx to the rear wheels.

Now...who all can think of what is actually needed/used for a build like this?

I'd do a SOHC 4.0L before I wasted a second on the 3.8 and its prone-to-failure headgaskets. Just look at rygenstormlocke (I think that's his name) on StangNet. He had a 4.0L S197 in the 10's.

That is a very sick car!

But the reason for the 3.8 is it's availability and it's cheapness. Plus all I have to do is pull a K-member from a 94-04 and bolt straight up to a fox.

Is it possible to use the 4.0 as a straight bolt in for a 94-04 K-member. I'm thinkin more of a next to nothing cost build.

You know, the 4.0 SOHC came in Explorers, back as far as like 1994ish? Millions of them on the road...

I don't know what type of bolt pattern they have though. If they have a SBF, or 4.6 bolt pattern is beyond me.

why not just turbo a stock 302 or 351? TONS of parts and complete motors just laying around. find a junk yard for motor that come from factory with forged pistons and your already alot better off.
