Ting tings...
not the band but the sound thats been coming from under my car for over a year and its driving me nuts:bang:!
Sometimes its not there, sometimes its real quiet, sometimes its loud, sometimes only under 3/4 throttle, sometimes it makes it just off of idle at 20% throttle:bang::bang::bang:! a buddy of mine said that it sounds like the ebrake cable rattling, so i pull the brake and pull away from a red light and there it is tink tink tink tink. I haven't had a chance to get up under it in a while, going to do that this weekend, but it almost sounds like something on my drive shaft hitting the exist as the shaft spins, but you'd think that the guy that did my u-joints would have saw that and said "man, i bet this has been driving him nuts" and fixed it! ![]() ![]()

Is there any evidence of the driveshaft hitting anything? I know on the 94-95 cars, it's not uncommon for the driveshaft to end up rubbing on the e-brake cable bracket, but I honestly don't remember on the Foxes, since I haven't had one in 10 years. The exhaust isn't banging on anything, right? No heat shields rattling on cats, or tailpipes hitting the lip on the tank?

No, no cats and the car has dumps in front of the axel. It could be rattleing on something that would be hard to spot unless you were under the car when it was on the road, though.
If the sn cars are the same basic setup as foxes then it could be the cable or a bracket. |

I think the e-brake cable setup is different, but it might just be at the axle (disc vs. drum). I need to adjust my X-pipe that's rattling off the frame rail, so it's possible you could be experiencing a similar clearance issue?

Ok, i noticed tonight that it only makes this sound while its rolling forward, if it were a e-brake cable wouldnt it do it in reverse too?
oh, i didnt get under it this weekend. ever have one of those weekends where you dont quite get to everything? |
