new parts!

not the fun kind either, noticed lots of bigger sized cracks forming on my stock fan around the blades and Ive never had the air diverter that goes under the front bumper, that could be why im over heating on the high way...I replaced the hoses a few months ago and the t'stat last year. Late model to the rescue!
new fan clutch, fan air diverter, plus a couple of interior parts i needed to pick up. Damn interior paint is pricey!

That fan clutch will help immensely with cooling the car down. The air diverter should help at speed, but the clutch is going to really help the fan move air. I've never priced interior paint. Dare I ask how bad it is?

The cooling problem im having is at speed, if i drive down the highway and start getting close to 2k rpms then the (stock) temp gauge starts to climb. the stock fan has cracks at the base of each blade and the clutch has chit all over the back of it like its got some heavy wear going on, i think i got it used off a 93 about 10 or so years ago. time for new parts I would think.

Im thinking the rattle can that matches the interior was like 13 or so, almost as much as the seat belt bezels that im going to paint!

How about using an electric fan with temp switch?

What temp thermostat do you have in the car?

Any coolant coming out of the weep hole in the water pump?

not loosing any coolant and its got a 180 stat in it.

I thought about doing the e-fan but kinda like the look of the stock shroud, I know i can make the mark 8 fan retrofit into the stock shroud but a little bit of the lazy is coming out in me. already have the 3g alt but put an under drive pulley on it and need to swap that back to the stocker and fix an low charge at idle problem.

oh yeah. dont know if it was the fan or the clutch or the air diverter (probably the diverter) but the car stays nice and cool now, never getting to the half way mark running at 2200rpm. before it would only make it about 5 min before the gauge was climbing skyward.

the second part of the order was seat belt bezels and a can of scarlett red paint that didnt match, went with some cheepo rustoleum and a bunch of light coats. Im done now for a few months till I start ordering suspension parts for the wifes car.
